On the second Sunday after Pentecost – the Church celebrates the Body and Blood of Christ. Through the centuries – the Church has shifted focus from the people as the body of Christ to the mystical body of Christ in Holy Communion.

On the first Sunday after Pentecost – the Church celebrates the Trinity – God in three manifestations. This year, that happened to also be May 31, the Feast of the Visitation – when Mary and Elizabeth encountered one another – cousins both miraculously pregnant.
